MONTES ALPHA Carmenère 2009 D.O. COLCHAGUA VALLEY CHILE

Posted On December ,

This French Oak Barrel Aged wine is smooth and rich. The relatively cool climate of Colchagua valley allows this late-ripening variety to mature slowly and smoothly and reach full ripeness. Clay soils give strength and power to the wine. After fermentation, the wine is moved to French oak barrels where it is aged for 12 months.

Sight/ Appearance
Deep and lively ruby-red color. A clear wine with deep intensity. It has pronounced legs.

Nose
The wine shows elegant Carmenère character, with lovely black pepper aromas, and hints of red berry, chocolate, vanilla and plum.

Palate
In the mouth it is distinctively smooth, with rounded soft tannins. This wine is dry on the palate with medium acidity. The tannin is slightly on the higher side. A lot of spicy notes are found, along with coffee and caramel flavor. Lots of red fruit flavors are also there in this wine

Finish
It has a lengthier finish. This wine can be aged for quite some time if you have few more bottles with you.
