Cake Mixing Ceremonies

Christmas Cake mixing is one of the most awaited events in Christian household and marks the onset of Christmas season. The age old ceremony of cake mixing starts a few months before Christmas and the winter festivities and is considered to be an usher for good tidings and happiness.

Ingredients like dates , dry cherry, fig, almond, walnut , pistachio , raisins, sultana, black currant, mixed fruit peel, cashews, tutifuti, apricot, prunes , nutmeg powder, cinnamon powder, cardamom powder, cloves powder , melted butter, lemon juice , sponge crumb were mixed along with brandy, orange juice , whisky and rum. This will be stored until Christmas to prepare the traditional Plum cakes. On Christmas Eve, this mixture will be blended with cake batter to make cakes, cookies , stollen bread , mince pie and Yule log.

To warm up for the festive season, the General Managers of star hotels invites public figures and socialites of Kathmandu, Executives and Chefs to be part of it. In the ceremony, all guests are handed gloves, aprons and donned with chef caps. The event is loads of fun, all amidst great cheer and fervor. The best part of the activity is the guests camaraderie. 

The event organized in Gokarna Forest Resort on 21st November was attended by H.E Glenn White & Mrs. White, the Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Mr. & Mrs. Philip Norley, MD - Gorkha Brewery, Actor Vinay Shrestha, Everest Summiteer Ms. Susmita Maskey, Mr. Suresh KC, CEO of Divyansh Media, and other inhouse guests including Golf Member Mrs. Doris Lange.

Hotel Annapurna organized the ceremony on Sunday,22nd Nov 2015 in a great atmosphere, with food \ drink and a place to mingle with female dignitaries from various backgrounds such as embassies, schools, Airlines and various other Organizations. Also in attendance wore some enthusiastic children from the Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF), J and K House for orphans and differently abled children NYF strives to provide a loving environment, to empower these children and help them excel and fulfill their dream. The dessert will be available at The Cake Shop at Durbar Marg from December 15th onward.

Hyatt Regency Kathmandu organized the event on 25th November 2015, Ms. Sinead O’Reilly Henell, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Kathmandu invited public figures and socialites of Kathmandu and inhouse guests of the hotels to be part of the event

Summit Hotel, Kupondole organized cake mixing in presence of many celebraties including popular singer Indira Joshi, Miss nepal 2011 Malina Joshi, miss nepal 2012 – 2nd  runner up subexya khadka, singer Dipak Bajrachary was presented on this occasion.
